The role: Sphere IT have a new opportunity for a technically focused person looking to move their career onto the next level. Due to their commitment of delivering high level solutions to their expanding range of clients, they are looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their technical team.

The MSP provide consultancy and support services to thousands of users across over a hundred different businesses in varying sectors including legal, hospitality, retail, professional services, property, healthcare and finance.

They work in an open plan office with an informal atmosphere. A collaborative approach is always encouraged – they try to make it a fun and productive place to work, where everyone can always learn new things.

The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, solid technical and problem-solving skills and helpdesk experience providing support to end users and be well-versed in Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems and popular office software packages. The candidate should also be:

  • Confident verbal and written communicator with both clients and colleagues
  • Ability to research new products and information around technical solutions that resolve client issues
  • Self-Motivated and disciplined, with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks under pressure.
  • Thrive on understanding and being aware of new and current technologies

Experience:

  • A proven history of being able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across a client base which specialises in Small & Medium Sized Business via remote connectivity, telephone or email
  • Experience in remote diagnostics along with analysis and monitoring
  • Excellent Customer Service abilities
  • Be used to working unsupervised, independently and as part of a team
  • IT related degree or relevant qualifications highly desirable
  • Proven technical ability across the common product suites
  • Willingness to learn new software and hardware skills

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft cloud solutions including Office 365 and Azure
  • Proven experience with Desktop & Server solutions across the Microsoft family
  • Proven experience with Mac OS
  • Overall appreciation of client system security, requirements and proven experience with relevant software and hardware solutions
  • WiFi solution experience & knowledge, with Ruckus, Meraki, UniFi, etc.
  • Network and Firewall Administration – Draytek, SonicWall, ZyXEL
  • Experience of hospitality and/or legal products such as Property/Document/Case Management Systems would be advantageous
  • Candidates with Microsoft Certifications would prove advantageous
