Job Title: Account Executive (App & Tech Project Sales)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £26,000 – £47,000 (Basic + OTE)

Position: Permanent Full-Time

Job Summary:

You will be a quota-carrying salesperson, responsible for nurturing clients with tech projects to close, with a sales target that determines the percentage commission due. Your role will initially be half handling inbound leads, and half outbound prospecting. Salary + Commission + Car Allowance.

Job Role:

This Jewellery Quarter based business is a well-established web and app development agency specialising in creating Mobile Apps, Online Portals and Software as a Service (SaaS) products. You will be a quota-carrying salesperson in this role, responsible for nurturing clients with tech projects to close.

Initially, your role will be around half of your time qualifying, nurturing and closing marketing-qualified leads and the other half prospecting into new accounts using ‘Cold Calling 2.0’ techniques and other forms of warm prospecting. This split of activities might change over time subject to business and sales success. The company has an existing inbound lead generation process.

Core responsibilities and tasks:

  • Ensure accounts have a great experience at all times, measured with net promoter score.
  • Follow the company sales process to nurture, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Take a “The Challenger Sale” approach to sales and account management.
  • Arrange and attend sales meetings (both virtually and in-person).
  • Learn the company’s well-documented planning process, case studies, and support activities required to build customer relations and confidence.
  • Prospect to generate outbound leads and new client business.
  • Work closely with internal teams to support new prospect acquisition and ongoing business development to meet and exceed targets.
  • Supporting the process of contracting with new clients, as well as securing client reference agreements.
  • Manage your sales pipeline effectively to ensure sufficient opportunities to meet sales targets in the near, medium, and long term.
  • Maintain CRM and provide regular reports on the pipeline.

To be considered you will need to:

  • Be self-driven.
  • Excellent solution selling, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate your ability to understand and communicate the capabilities of technical subject matter.
  • Demonstrate experience in closing B2B deals of a similar size (£25k+) that are a complex collaborative solution-sales process.
  • Experience carrying a similar magnitude of annual sales targets (£400k+).
  • Experience using outbound prospecting techniques, with a track record of generating own leads in addition to those received from marketing.
  • Be able to develop and maintain excellent personal relationships internally and externally.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Experience using a customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • Computer literate, and comfortable creating and using spreadsheets.

You may be required to conduct additional tasks and own other responsibilities.
The annual salary for this role consists of a £26,000 basic, plus a £21,000 commission if you hit your sales target. Commission is uncapped, so it is possible to earn above this if you exceed targets (Conditions apply). There is also a £2,000 car allowance.

You will have an annual sales target, with a portion required from new name business. Our customer initial contract values can range from £25-50k, making it possible to meet target with 14 – 28 of the right deals closed each year, which is approximately one to two of this size per month.

Further percentage-point commission uplifts are available on top for contracts sold more profitably (for example at a higher rate relative to operating costs), allowing you to earn a higher commission on qualifying invoices for some deals.

Though this is not predominantly a field-sales role, and we prefer clients to come to us at the later stages of the sales process, you may be required to travel to meet prospects from time to time.

Due to Covid, you may be required to work several months from home until the company decides it is Covid-safe for the team to return to work in its Jewellery Quarter offices. Your safety is their number one priority! Interviews will also be conducted in a Covid-secure way.
