Job Title: Application Support Analyst

Salary: £42,800 – £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

The Role:

Maintain and support the Bank’s core banking application, ICSFS BANKS®, also known as BASIS and all other back-end and customer facing business applications (like SAS AML) that support the bank’s Information Technology operations.

You will also be required to support the administration / development of other applications integrated or built around ICSFS BANKS® (BASIS), essentially to retrieve data and populate user defined fields.

You will also be expected to possess critical Information Technology management skills such as Business analysis and Process Improvement, Project Management, Release Management and Quality Control, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity and must possess business acumen with in depth understanding of financial business operation flows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input and support the bank’s Business and Information Technology strategy
  • Provide support for the bank’s current implementation of ICSFS BANKS® (BASIS)
  • Implement new BANKS® and other application releases of existing business application software, capturing end user requirements and configuring, testing and integration as necessary

  • Provide first and second-level support for ICSFS BANKS® (BASIS) and other mission critical business applications. Must be able to troubleshoot and provide quality problems resolution
  • Produce specifications of business requirements to a level that enables effective delivery of agreed changes
  • Produce specifications of business requirements to a level that enables effective and timely delivery of agreed changes
  • Produce specifications and designs for information systems and their components to meet defined business needs, retaining compatibility with enterprise and solution architectures
  • Specify, design and maintain mechanisms for storage and access (retrieval) to both structured and unstructured information, in support and business information needs
  • Design, create, test and document new and amended SQL, packages and programs from supplied specifications in accordance with agreed standards
  • Develop, implement and report the findings of suitable test schedules to measure and improve the quality of ICT solutions being deployed
  • Integrate and test (and retest) components and /or subsystems and their interfaces in order to create operational services
  • Transfer application knowledge and associated documentation to the support desk to facilitate service support for new and upgraded ICT solutions
  • Facilitate productive relationships with and between key stakeholders and departments, during the planning, management and implementation of business change
  • Ensure that project and business application support documentation is maintained
  • Co-ordinate the work of suppliers, contractors and colleagues during the development, testing and implementation of new or upgraded business modules or solutions
  • Mobilise and co-ordinate and monitor the efforts of suppliers and contractors in dealing with business and application problems referred to second-line or vendor support
  • Identify project related risks and escalate project issues in a timely manner
  • Follow agreed architecture, design pattern and the software development methodology
  • Develop and deliver programs / applications within time and budget

The Candidate:

  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Degree Qualified in Computer Science or any relevant/ related degree
  • Working knowledge of ICSFS BANKS® (BASIS) (essential)
  • At least 5 (five) year’s in-depth, hands-on knowledge and experience supporting several modules of ICSFS BANKS® (BASIS) with emphasis on:
    • Core System (system setup and product definition)
    • Trade Finance
    • Remittances
    • Treasury
    • Interfaces/Channels
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in high-pressure environment
  • Ability to conduct research into software development and delivery concepts, as well as technical application issues
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Very strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Leadership qualities
