Job title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Ormskirk

Salary: £25,000-£26,000 pro rata

Job type: full time – permanent, 40 hours per week.

The role/responsibilities:

Job tasks are as follows –

  • All aspects of purchase ledger including statement reconciliations, account queries creating payment runs, posting of invoices and matching invoices to purchase orders
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with the posting of journals
  • Posting of sales invoices
  • Taking ownership of cash/card receipt reconciliations
  • Other adhoc accounting and admin duties required to assist the finance manager

Essential skills:

  • Experience in using xero accounting software

Preferred skills:

  • Approachable personality
  • Organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience of working with xero accountancy software (essential)
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and solve problems independently
  • Ability to manage workloads
