Job Title: BID Marketing Coordinator

Location: Acton

Salary: £22,000 – £24,000 per annum

Job type: Full time, Fix Term Contract until September 2023 (36 hours per week)

The Role:

The company is looking for a new team member to coordinate the marketing activities of them to help make a positive difference in the BID area.

They want Acton to be the best place it can be for its businesses, residents and visitors. You will be a key team player keeping the 604 levy paying business engaged with the activities being delivered by the BID and promoting Acton to all other businesses, local residents and visitors to the area.

This will involve:

  • Drafting newsletters, press releases and local news reports
  • Updating the website and social media pages.
  • Helping to produce and distribute marketing materials and analysing the impact of marketing campaigns

The role will require a person with creative ideas, energy and a positive and enthusiastic attitude. This team member will also have opportunity to put forward ideas to help shape the company marketing strategy.

The successful candidate will need to support the company’s image by talking about it in a positive light, promoting improvements to working practices which are beneficial to the company’s long and short-term business strategy, adopting a quality approach to all aspects of work encouraging others to achieve high standards.

Job Duties:

  • Understand the flow of information and what messages should appropriately be given out to businesses
  • Be an ambassador for the BID keeping businesses informed and engaged with the activities of the BID
  • Co-ordinate the production of marketing materials and literature, such as web content, newsletters and brochures
  • Co-ordinate the collation of information for the promotional literature
  • Write and proof-read copy
  • Upload material to the website and social media pages
  • Help design, arrange printing and distribution of the marketing materials
  • Evaluate marketing campaigns using tracking and analytical software and assess the results
  • Liaise with graphic and website designers, obtaining quotations for works
  • Be the main point of contact for external designers and printers
  • Engage with local businesses encouraging them to take part in promotional activities
  • Assist and support the BID Management Team with activities such as festivals, meetings and events
  • Maintain appropriate records and to communicate and liaise with the appropriate BID and Ealing Council staff promptly and helpfully
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of the post as may over time become necessary

Qualification:

  • Professional marketing qualification at postgraduate level (essential)

Experience:

  • Experience working in a similar marketing role (desirable)

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of how to publish and update information online
  • Good knowledge of using marketing platforms including social media sites
  • Good working knowledge of the local area (desirable)
  • An understanding of Business Improvement Districts and their operation (desirable)
  • To have an understanding of GDPR legislation (desirable)

Personal Aptitude and Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • To be computer literate and be able to use technology required for this role
  • An enthusiastic, efficient and proactive team member
  • Able to promote, inspire and attract business member involvement in the group and the services and projects they offer
  • Willingness to undertake other tasks to support the Management Team
  • To be able to work when required outside the normal core office hours this could include evenings, weekends, events and some Bank holidays
