Job Title: Business Development Executive

Location: Bristol / UK

Salary: £27,000 per annum + uncapped commission and up to 10% annual bonus.

Job type: Permanent, Full-Time

Working Hours: 08:30am – 5:30pm (40hrs per week)

About us:

A member of SYNLAB, the Veterinary Pathology Group (VPG) offers a comprehensive range of tests as well as diagnostic advice for domestic pets, horses, reptiles and birds as well as exotic species. Our clients are typically veterinary surgeons, though we also offer services to universities and other animal health professionals. SYNLAB also has veterinary laboratories in Germany, Italy, Belgium and other European countries.

VPG offers all aspects of clinical pathology and microbiology, and includes comprehensive offerings in serology, immunology, PCR testing, and toxicology. VPG also has a strong reputation for its expertise in cytology and histopathology as well as immunocytochemistry and histochemistry.

About the role:

We have an exciting and new opportunity for two Business Development Executives to join our fast-paced team and to support the continued growth of the business. This is a full-time and permanent role which will also home based.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the VPG Managing Director with business development strategy, working with the Operations team.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the UK and Europe, through independent and corporate practices and buying groups. Develop ongoing pipeline.
  • Direct line management of the Business Development Assistants.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Key personnel within corporate client groups at all levels.
  • Responding to customer correspondence via email or telephone. CPD organisation with independent practices and associations.
  • Analysis of revenue reports, identification of practice loss and gain , following up and communicating to the Operations Director, Managing Director and Business Development Assistants.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a Sales and Business Development role.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent selling and negotiation skills.
  • Must be able to prioritise, organise and manage time effectively.
  • Clean UK Driving Licence.

Desirable:

  • Some knowledge of the veterinary/Biomedical Sciences sector.
  • Knowledge of MS Office/Teams and familiar with CRM systems.
