About the role:

The key function of this position is to manage a portfolio, building relationships with existing and lapsed customers to promote, retain and sell a broad range of hazardous waste collection and disposal services in line with the company’s sales KPI’s and wider business objectives.  You will also work with our Operations team to ensure that orders are processed, and that service delivery meets and wherever possible exceeds your customer’s expectations.  You may also be asked to work with the Head of Key Accounts or the field sales team to grow their customer bases or secure new business opportunities in the wider market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For an allocated list of existing and lapsed customers:
  • Develop sustained and close relationships understanding their regular and upcoming needs to ensure we retain customers and become the provider of choice through regular contact;
  • Increase spend, specifically within the hazardous waste market, including asbestos removal, COSHH, hazardous and other specialist sectors of market;
  • Follow up on all quotations issued in a timely manner, taking appropriate action to maximise conversion rate within company’s margin and service delivery parameters; and
  • Ensure that service delivery meets expectations
  • Respond to email or telephone enquiries, generating customer quotes and overseeing their preparation, distribution and follow-up
  • Oversee the implementation of key / bespoke customer proposals in conjunction with the Head of Key Accounts, such as; Contaminated soils projects and remediation tenders.
  • Make direct calls or respond to email enquiries to generate new business from new customers
  • Recording all interactions with customers and prospects on the company’s CRM and report regularly on your customer-base to contribute an understanding of the internal sales pipeline

About you:

  • Ideally you will have worked in outbound or internal sales or account management in the waste, asbestos removal, construction or demolition industries or for a company who supplies products and services to this industry.  However, we will welcome applicants who have any B2B sales or account management experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the asbestos market and/or hazardous waste management, solutions and legislation is desirable but by no means necessary as we will provide full training.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales and account management targets e.g. retention; increased spend etc
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate effectively and build relationships
  • A positive and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Commercially driven to exceed targets
  • Experience of working with and competent in CRM and other business-related systems such as Microsoft Office suite
  • Organised, able to prioritise and manage their and other’s workloads
