Location: Colchester

Salary: £31,000.00-£35,000.00

Job type: Full Time – Contract.

Deputy Manager required for Ofsted registered children’s home. Excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker or Deputy Manager to take a lead role within a fantastic, supportive and dynamic company. If you meet the below criteria, please apply now!

The Role:

You will work under the guidance of the Home Manager to support and supervise a team of Residential and Senior Residential Support Workers to provide quality care to look after children. You will be able to lead, motivate and enhance the skills of your team and be able to model professionalism and leadership skills. The young people display complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, and need guidance to develop their independence skills and ability to integrate into society. You will be confident and able to step in to the manager’s shoes in their absence.

Purpose of post:

To assist the Registered Manager in the management of the home, including the staff, the budget, the resources and fabric of the building, and the welfare of the children and young people, with the objective of achieving the highest standard of service delivery as measured by Ofsted against the National Minimum Standards.

Deputy Manager Criteria:

  • Diploma/ NVQ Level 3 in children and young people (or equivalent qualification) or above.
  • Senior experience of leading and developing others.
  • Excellent knowledge of requirements of role and ability to lead others.
  • Knowledge of Ofsted.
  • To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 2 years of management experience in children residential home; NVQ 3, a valid driving license and flexibility to support the home on an on-call rota basis.
