Field Sales Engineer /Account Manager/ Technical Sales

£40000 - £65000 per annum + mileage allowance / company car

Location: The role is UK, home-based with no restrictions on location

Salary: £40,000 – £65,000 OTE Uncapped commission scheme (DOE) + mileage allowance / company car.

The Role:

This field sales role requires travel throughout the UK for customer visits and sales events and, as such the successful candidate can expect to spend frequent periods of time “on the road” visiting customers. Office work, making appointments, generating quotations, planning etc. will be carried out from the individual’s home office (unless home is close to the office in Romsey, Southampton).

The remuneration, sales territory and specifics of the role will be tailored to best suit the selected candidate. Hence the product “catalogue” could include some or all of their range of battery test and cycling equipment, their ac power sources and their range of potentiostats and electrochemistry instrumentation and accessories.

The Candidate:

A good understanding of electronic test and measurement instrumentation and measurement techniques is essential. The candidate will require sufficient technical and scientific knowledge to explain, demonstrate and sell products to new prospects and assist users. A background in business-to-business field sales of technical / scientific products will be an advantage as will knowledge of Electrochemistry, however neither is essential.

The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, be and able to build trust and confidence in their customers.

The candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with drive and the desire to be successful and achieve sales goals.

Excellent English communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will require a full, clean UK driving licence, valid passport and be eligible to work in the UK.

They’ve established an excellent reputation in their field, together with a strong and loyal customer base and this, together with an exciting range of new products will act as a springboard for growth over the coming period.

They specialise in serving customers involved in research in the areas of Electrochemistry, batteries, biochemistry, corrosion and fuel cells. More recently they’ve added high power ac sources to the product range.

Theirs customers are primarily academic research groups but also a rapidly growing number of industrial customers.

The company philosophy, and growth, is based upon providing excellent Support (capital S) to all customers. They believe that if even one user is unhappy with them that’s a failure and needs to be corrected urgently. The successful candidate will have similar views and, with the rest of the team, be determined to deliver this level of support to his or her customers.

The business has just completed its 11th anniversary and, during that period, has achieved sustained growth and success in their target markets. As a result they are now seeking to expand the team to build on that success.
