Field Sales Engineer /Account Manager/ Technical Sales

Location: HQ Romsey, Hants – The role is UK, home-based with no restrictions on location
Salary: £40,000 – £65,000 OTE Uncapped commission scheme (DOE) + mileage allowance / company car.

The Company is a young, fast-growing company selling and supporting a complementary range of high-tech test and measurement solutions to UK researchers. They have established an excellent reputation in their field, together with a strong and loyal customer base and this, together with an exciting range of new products will act as a springboard for growth over the coming period.
They specialise in serving customers involved in research in the areas of Electrochemistry, batteries, biochemistry, corrosion and fuel cells.
Their customers are primarily academic research groups but also a growing number of industrial customers.
The company philosophy, and growth, is based upon providing excellent Support (capital S) to their customer base. They believe that if even one user is unhappy, that is a failure and needs to be corrected urgently. The successful candidate will have similar views and, with the rest of our team, be determined to deliver this level of support to the customers.
The business has just completed its 11th anniversary and during that period, they have achieved sustained growth and success in their target markets. They are now seeking to expand the team to build on that success.
Purpose of the Role:
The role is a field sales role and will require travel throughout the UK and Ireland to meet with customers and to attend conferences. When not travelling the position will involve working from home (unless home is close to their office in Romsey, Southampton). There may be a very occasional need to travel overseas to visit our suppliers for product training or sales conferences.
The role can be tailored to fit the chosen candidate and could be, for example, by geography, just field sales, or split between field, and office-based. The remuneration, territory and specifics of the role will be tailored to best suit the selected candidate.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with drive and the desire to be successful as well as having the technical and scientific knowledge to sell the products and assist users in their use.
A background in business-to-business field sales of technical / scientific products will be an advantage. Excellent English communication skills are essential.
The candidate will have a technical background and an understanding of electronic lab test instrumentation or of electrochemistry would be an advantage.
Candidates combining sales ability with the requisite technical knowledge are not easy to find and the Company anticipates shaping the overall package – territory, remuneration, to suit individual circumstances and capabilities.
Company’s preference for this role is to find a candidate capable of field sales of their range of potentiostats to electrochemists, however they would also like to hear from candidates capable of selling their range of battery cyclers and related equipment to our battery research customers.
Please note: The successful candidate should ideally possess a full UK driving licence, a valid passport and must be eligible to work in the UK.
