Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: Bridgend, Wales

Salary: £26,000 – £35,000 dependant on experience

Job type: Permanent, Full time

The Company are a well-established, award winning Telecommunications Company based in Bridgend whose primary focus is to ensure the best customer service for their customers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join their thriving organisation as a Finance Manager. The Finance Manager is a pivotal senior role within the organisation and will be responsible for the overall financial and budgetary controls of the company. This role does have the opportunity to progress to Finance Director. As a member of the team you will have excellent customer service skills matched with a practical and organised approach with everything you do.

The Role

  • Tasked to establish and maintain all financial control (FAP)
  • Pro-active in working on the company’s financial strategy
  • Leading and managing the Finance Team in a professional and proactive manner, whilst monitoring performance and developing the team through training and coaching
  • Producing accurate information for reporting for Management and the Finance Team
  • Preparing, updating and monitoring budget information
  • Overseeing the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, billing
  • Responsible for the control of cash flow movements of creditors
  • Investigating high areas of expenditure and report to Management on findings
  • Attending and taking an active part in Senior Leadership Team Meetings and communicate all appropriate facts to the wider team, communication is key
  • Producing monthly board reports of personal, team and company objectives and KPIs
  • Liaising with both internal and external clients, suppliers and subcontractors ensuring that all reasonable requests are actioned
  • Utilising internal and external platforms such as; Xero and PRD (billing software)
  • Constantly seeking new innovative ways to improve their ways of working in both the department and the company
  • Responsible for monthly billing reporting of revenue
  • Responsible for overseeing all FCA regulations including reporting to external parties

The Candidate:

  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualified
  • Awareness of relevant compliance issues is essential as is having a sound understanding of VAT rules and accounting standards
  • Experience in credit control and debtor management
  • Has a commercial background which is used when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to communicate at all levels
  • Proven experience in a senior management role
  • Technically strong with the ability to operate strategically
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analysis experience
  • Highly IT proficient with strong Excel Skills
  • Team player, capable of challenging convention
