Job Title: Head Chef

Location: Perth, Scotland.

Salary: Negotiable

Job type: Permanent – 50 hours – 4 days a week straight shifts including weekends & holidays.

We are a friendly business in Perth on the lookout for talented and enthusiastic team players who can display attention to detail with a genuine passion for cooking.

The Role:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe, orderly and clean kitchen, complying with required EHO legislation, demonstrate this by using correct food-handling techniques, a food management system and up to date cleaning records. Ensuring Health and Safety compliance is adhered to.
  • Focussing on all customers, staff meeting dietary and allergen requirements ensuring high quality of food and service.
  • Managing, training and overseeing the kitchen team to provide an excellent catering service operation.
  • Managing all financial aspects of the catering operation to ensure maximum value for money and effective cost control.
  • Manage the kitchen in areas of profit management, stock, waste control, hygiene, organisation, food standards, training and personnel within the department effectively.
  • Provide support, guidance and direction in order to achieve consistency and high standards of performance and presentation.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years experience in a Chef role.
  • French cuisine knowledge is a plus but not essential.
  • A real passion for cooking high quality dishes.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene laws, health and safety and allergen regulations.
  • Experience of working in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Flexible, positive and adaptable team leader.
  • Good organisational & time management skills.
  • Keen interest in development of staff.

Extra Information:

We offer staff meals when on shift, part-uniform, 5.6 weeks holiday pay per year, friendly working environment and good tips. Overtime available with increased pay.
