Job Title: IWMF Maintenance Technician

Location: Padworth, Reading, Berkshire

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum + benefits

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

What you’ll do:

As the Maintenance Technician, you will assist and support the Lead Maintenance Engineer in maximising the throughput of the facility by completing day to day maintenance of all plant and equipment at Padworth IWMF including MRF / IVC / T/S and 2 x HWRC, completing planned preventative maintenance requirements.

Ensuring safe, efficient and reliable plant operation including assisting in maintaining compliance of statutory inspections, completing plant equipment maintenance – planned, breakdowns and overhauls, in line with company policy and procedures.

You will interact with and assist in the management of maintenance subcontractors and assist with the training & monitoring of suitable operatives in the safe methods of basic first line maintenance and lubrication of equipment.

Where you’ll work

Their Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) at Padworth is designed to significantly improve recycling and composting rates in West Berkshire, improve management of waste and meet the statutory targets that have been set.

The qualifications you will need

To be successful within this role you will hold a City and Guilds or NVQ in Engineering plus a formal qualification in maintenance, recognised formal apprenticeship, background and training in both Mechanical & Electrical engineering preferable.

The experience you will need

You will have experience in processing manufacturing, production industry, hydraulics, pneumatics and material handling equipment and knowledge & experience of working with mobile plant.

You will be fully conversant with material handling equipment, screening and shredding equipment preferably within the recycling environment. Experienced with Conveyors, baling equipment, Low Voltage equipment, motors, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology preferred
