Job Title: Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £23,000 to £26,500 plus benefits. Appointment is made at the entry salary to the grade

Job type: Full Time – Permanent. Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm (36.25 hours per week)

The role

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work within our small and busy Marketing Team and will take an active role in all aspects of marketing and communications planning and execution across the organisation. Street League is a fast paced and results orientated organisation and the marketing team are crucial in supporting this. The role will support the Marketing and Communications Manager with a varied portfolio of work including digital content creation, copywriting, website updates and oversight, PR and media, advertising, photography and videography, and data analysis.

This is an exciting role for someone taking their next steps in the marketing profession who enjoys working as part of a passionate team making a difference to the lives of young people across the UK.

The role would be based at one of our locations across the UK. The headquarters for the marketing department is currently Glasgow.

Main Receptibilities

  • Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager in developing a digital content plan informed by a clear understanding of our target audiences, brand identity, and key messaging.
  • Research and develop new marketing trends and opportunities to maximise our reach, with a specific aim to engage our two key audiences: young people and our supporters.
  • Design and create high-quality creative content (photography, videography, and graphic design) for use across Street League’s internal and external channels, including social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok), the Street League website, and e-newsletters.
  • Undertake day-to-day social media engagement and community management, posting regular content in line with organisational key messages, responding (where appropriate) to user comments, and engaging with the wider online community.
  • Travel to programmes across the UK on a regular basis to generate grassroots content, putting our young people at the forefront of our messaging.

Ideal candidate

  • An understanding of key marketing, communications, and design principles in relation to developing a strong brand identity and engaging content.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – confident pitching ideas and open to receiving feedback while working as part of a small team.
  • Sound understanding of social media channels and awareness of emerging technologies, as well as photo-editing and video editing software.
  • A qualification in marketing, communications, or related discipline would be beneficial, but not essential. We are most interested in experience and skills.
  • Experience working in a similar role within a marketing and communications team.
  • Excellent ability and experience of shooting video footage and taking quality photographs.
