Established in 1959, they are a large, highly respected regional firm of Independent Financial Advisers, based in Southampton and have been providing, informed, impartial and independent Financial Advice to business and private clients alike for 60 years.

An opportunity has arisen for a full time experienced paraplanner to join their team. They are looking for a Level 4 qualified individual with excellent report writing skills, attention to detail and technical expertise in the inheritance tax planning area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a team alongside the firms’ advisers and administrators to provide clients with a professional ongoing Financial Planning Experience
  • Be responsible for undertaking research to identify suitable solutions to meet client needs and objectives
  • Prepare information and recommendation reports for analysis, ensuring all compliance paperwork is in order
  • Keep up-to-date with new products, technical or legislative changes within the marketplace.
  • Comply at all times with the firm’s Compliance; Training & Competence; Complaints and Data Security policies / procedures.
  • To ensure that the firm’s clients are treated fairly at all times
  • Check all paperwork / information is available to ensure that the client file meets the FCA’s rules and requirements
  • Undertake research to identify suitable solutions to meet the client’s needs and objectives
  • Prepare suitability reports in accordance with the agreed recommendations

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a paraplanner
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
  • Time management
  • Detailed knowledge of the FCA’s rules and requirements
  • Broad knowledge of the financial services sector
  • High level of technical knowledge
