Job Title: Planner

Location: Motherwell (ML1 5FA)

Salary: Up to £25,000 depending on experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)

The Company is the UK’s leading waste-to-energy biodiesel producer with operations in Scotland and North West England and has always been privately owned. Their main plant, near Motherwell in Scotland, started production in 2005.

Following significant investment to facilitate growth and development, a number of facilities have been built in the Stanlow area. They specialise in the production and supply of high grade, sustainable diesel made from waste fats and oils deliberately excluding any raw materials that could also be used for food or feed.

Role Overview:

Ensure smooth transitions within the supply chain, ensuring customer demands are met. Maintain Oracle data and assist in developing its use within the business. To support daily operational tasks or any other duties requested by your manager.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Create, maintain and manage data within Oracle and other data systems to drive accurate forecasts. I.e. Purchase / Sales / Transfer/ Work orders.
  • Produce reports to assist in compilation of Management Information.
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Coordinating production workflow for multiple products ensuring quality and auditing demands are always complied with.
  • Develop an end to end understanding of the business and production processes.
  • Monitor and refine trends to optimise supply chain efficiencies, demonstrating best practice.
  • Adhering to and monitoring KPIs and assist in determining root cause analysis on any issues.
  • Prepare forecasting, delivery and production schedules across all sites.
  • Create and maintain Purchase / Sales / Transfer orders.
  • Establish process and reporting mechanisms, creating Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate within the supply chain to make key decisions and prioritise supply issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels across all sites.

Safety, Health and Environment

  • Carry out all activities in line with the Company’s SH&E rules and guidelines
  • Always wear Personal Protection Equipment as required. Take responsibility for your own PPE ensuring appropriate storage and care
  • Always work in a manner safe to yourself and others and report any hazards immediately
  • Ensure all staff and visitors operate in compliance with Safety Regulations
  • Make yourself aware of all Emergency procedures and Responses

The Candidate:

  • Production planning / demand planning experience gained in a manufacturing / FMCG environment – min 3 years.
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Proactive and positive attitude in the work environment
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to multi task and deliver a hands-on approach in a fast-changing environment
  • Supply chain knowledge and experience
  • Understanding of Business Operations
  • Good Excel skills, strong systems knowledge, organisational and report writing skills
  • Oracle / ERP knowledge and experience
  • Relevant qualification in business or supply chain management desirable but not essential
