Job Title: Project Worker

Location: Bradford

Salary: £19,819 to £23,111 pro rata dependant on experience

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term Time only

Closing Date: Noon 29th March 2019

The Charity is a specialist provider of training in the automotive sector and Independent school regulated by OFSTED. Operating across the Bradford District, each year they manage the training for more than 40 students with individual time tables. They provide a curriculum that includes Personal and Social Development, Functional Maths and English, Prince’s Trust, RE, PE and Science.

They currently have an opening for a Project Worker, working with the young people who attend their independent school.

The Role:

  • To teach and facilitate learning for all students through; managing courses, learning programmes and assessment, and by contributing to pastoral systems and curriculum innovation, development and implementation
  • Liaise with schools, professionals, partners and parents to support young people
  • Deliver Entry 3 to Level 2 Functional Skills through Pearson’s and Prince’s Trust.
  • Deliver and support the delivery of all curriculum aspects such as RE, Science, PE, PSD.
  • To assist in the development of the existing courses
  • To assist the day-to-day activities of classes and specific courses
  • Undertake the duties associated with learning programmes with regard to; preparation, teaching and assessment in under-pinning knowledge, assignments, practical work and any additional work
  • To deliver and develop new activities
  • Provide assistance and support in other project elements as required
  • Support young people to raise their attainment and aspirations and move on to positive pathways
  • Evidence the progression and attainment of all service users
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities
  • Assist with enrolment duties, registrations, examinations and initial assessments
  • Assist with and formulate programmes for students with additional learning and/or additional social needs
  • Assist with evening and weekend activities undertaken with service users
  • Work to policies, procedures and expectations of partner agencies and funders
  • Carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time by an Operations Manager

The Candidate:

  • Experience of work with hard to reach or at risk young people
  • Experience of working with young people who present challenging behaviour
  • Knowledge of young people’s barriers to learning
  • Knowledge of SEN/D
  • Knowledge of alternative educational settings
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to form positive partnerships with other professionals, colleagues, partners and young people
  • Ability to use I.T systems
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • GCSE A-C or equivalent in Maths and English
