Job Title: Trainee Purchasing & Logistics Coordinator

Location: Kings Hill

Salary: £18,000 – £20,000, depending on Experience

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The company specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of integrated, future-proofed mezzanine flooring solutions for major logistics and manufacturing centres in the UK and across Europe. Their services maximise space and help optimise storage, warehousing & distribution and production processes for today’s evolving businesses.

They have an exciting opportunity to work within their purchasing and logistics team as a purchasing assistant. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the on-time and to budget delivery of all components required for each installation project

Job Duties:

  • To make purchasing decisions that are cost effective and within budget
  • To proactively manage project throughout including advising of project start dates and liaise with the contracts department regarding deliveries
  • To proactively purchase long lead time components to avoid delays
  • To check next day deliveries and collections to identify delays
  • To work with the Group Procurement Manager to prevent fabricator overload
  • To work collaboratively with suppliers
  • Assist with accurate quotation of projects to support the business needs

Requirements:

They are looking for someone who is a strong administrator and has an eye for detail because checking facts and figures is part of who you are.

You will have a flair for numeracy and the ability to think “outside the box” as well as being able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Non-negotiable skills include excellent time-management; computer literate, confident in speaking to people over the phone and the ability to multi task.
