Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £10.50 per hour depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Working Days & Hours:

Monday – Friday on a rotating shift pattern:

Monday – Friday 06.00am – 14.00pm

Monday – Thursday 13.50pm – 22.20pm, Friday 13.50pm – 19.50pm

The Role:

The company are looking to recruit a conscientious Quality Compliance Officer to undertake inspections at our Sheffield site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing measurements & testing on our components at various stages of the production process, to ensure that customer specifications are met and fall in line with the international quality standards IATF 16949 & ISO9001 which P & B have attained accreditation too.

You will receive training some of which will be accredited and will lead to competitive salary increases. This is the ideal role for an individual looking to progress into a senior quality position.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Undertake inspections according to our inspection criteria and control plans
  • Document inspection results
  • Identify, disposition and document all suspect or defective products
  • Return products for rework; confirm rework and product quality
  • Operation of precise instruments for measuring
  • Ensure company procedures are followed

The Candidate:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Good understanding of quality tools, methods and standards
  • Experience in using measuring and testing equipment such as micrometres, verniers, gauges and shadowgraphs
  • Experience in fault finding in both materials and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to promote the quality culture within the business
  • Ability to adhere to company procedures during production phases
  • Assist and educate the production team on quality control issues
  • Work with team members to improve quality on a continual basis
