Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Location: Duffield, Derbyshire, DE56 4AQ

Salary: £16,633.50 to £18,973.50 pa dependent on qualifications and experience

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

This Lodge in Duffield is an ideal home for people with complex difficulties and challenges that require specialised ‘person centred’ support in a caring yet productive environment. Residents are able to learn practical life skills and take part in a range of community and home based activities, enabling their progress and transition towards a more independent life.

The role is to help to prepare the young adults placed with us to go on to live with support in the community or prepare them for life in a suitable residential home, they support young adults to live, socialise and form positive relationships with others. This is done by offering the young adults opportunities to socialise and develop friendships with other young people at the Lodge, as well as encouraging and supporting young adults to engage in as many community activities as possible.

The Role:

They are looking for patient and understanding staff to support the service users within the residential setting and in accessing the community and local activities i.e shopping, swimming as much as possible.

You will assist service users with all aspects of their personal care and development and promote choice and independence at every opportunity.

The Candidate – Essentials:

It would be beneficial for applicants to have some experience of working with young or vulnerable people within the home or work setting, however if you are highly motivated and have the drive and passion required for the role they would like to hear from you.

You must have the following:

  • Willingness to undertake accredited mandatory courses within the time set
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Ability to work in challenging circumstances
  • Willingness to work shifts that include evening and weekends
  • A natural respect of the individuality and dignity of those in our care
  • Due to the location it is preferable that applicants have their own form of transport, however free transport from Duffield can be provided
