Job Title: Steel Structures Draughtsperson (Tekla)

The Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible producing fabrication drawings, call-offs & mark-up drawings in CAD & Tekla from the approved general arrangement drawings in line with customer requirements.
They are looking for someone with ambition, drive and some working knowledge of technical design and detailing. A background in construction and especially structural steelwork is essential.
Job Duties:
- Produce fabrication drawings and mark-up drawings that are clear and concise and that present the structural steelwork details of the contract in a manner that can be easily understood by all those that are presented with them for their use or reference
- Carrying out designs for a wide range of projects
- Be able to refer to and correctly interpret the general arrangement drawings, specifications, details
- Work to engineering drawings and model/detail up a range of structural steelwork for them
- Flooring Review Structural Engineer drawings
- Good timekeeping and project management skills
- Working with work colleagues and customers to achieve final results on technical matters
- Maintain a high standard of work under pressure
- Any changes done during detailing must be updated on the general arrangement drawing in AutoCAD and the designer / salesperson to be informed
Requirements:
- Experience using Tekla Design and AutoCAD software is essential
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of architectural / structural steel drawing
- Experience of architectural / structural steel drawings Knowledge
- Experience of the technical elements of steel fabrication and installation
- Ability to undertake a reasonable level of technical calculations
- Possess a good level of IT skills
- Literate and adequately numerate to undertake a reasonable level of technical calculations
