Job Title: DevOps / Platform Engineer

The Company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to join an industry leading sports betting and gaming technology provider.
Due to exponential growth, they’re now looking for a talented, personable and driven individual who’s keen to put their mark on the technology and processes used within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
The DevOps engineer will be responsible for helping to maintain, monitor and support the core Java platform. This role will work within the Development departments to help automate and streamline the operational processes. You will be responsible for supporting the Java stack along with the development team by:
- Building and maintaining tools for deployments
- Looking after the company’s Continuous Integration platform (Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory)
- Maintaining development and test environments
- Analysing and tuning Java applications

This vacancy provides a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to shape and mould processes and tooling across the platform, driving from the front to maximise stability and performance across the entire platform.
Key Requirements:
Essential
- Demonstrable extensive experience in automating operations tasks with one or more scripting languages
- Experience creating and/or maintaining production software delivery pipelines using common CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GoCD, CircleCI)
- Experience maintaining and tuning Java Enterprise applications (e.g. Garbage Collection management, JStack analysis, JVM tweaks)
- Experience with configuration management tooling (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix, Nagios, Datadog, NewRelic)
- Have a drive for self-improvement and learning, including learning new programming languages and technologies
- Approach solving problems pragmatically
Desirable
- Maintaining, monitoring and configuring caching technologies such as GridGain and Apache Ignite.
- Experience working with one of the main cloud providers (AWS, Azure or Google)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, Cloudformation)
The right individual must be prepared to work core hours of 09:00 until 17:30 Monday to Friday. The company provide 24/7 service, so flexibility will be required for releases and support outside of these core hours.
