Job Title: Health Safety Operations Assistant

Location: Northenden, Manchester

Salary: Up to £23,000 per annum

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday – Thursday and 8:30am – 5pm Friday

Role Overview:

The focus of the role will be to carry out the Health and Safety requirements of the Company with a view to implementing any improvements to systems, processes and training, providing an important quality control function across the organisation. This person will oversee the 4 office buildings and manage the 2 in-house cleaning staff.

In addition, this position will support the Operations Partner, in the co-ordination and management of office / facilities projects and the compliance management of systems and documentation.

The role will also support the Managing Partner and other members of the senior management team, on a similar basis, as and when required.

What will you be doing:

  • Responsible for Health and Safety through effective operation of day to day policies and procedures, compliance with tests and reviews
  • Managing third party suppliers
  • Use of company vehicles to courier items when the firm’s courier is absent / engaged elsewhere
  • Regular walk arounds to check compliance.
  • Recording data on M-files system to show compliance with Health and Safety reviews
  • Keeping the Managing Director and Operations Partner fully informed where changes are suggested. Things must be agreed before implementation
  • Desk assessments and responsibly managing employees requests
  • Office / facility planning for e.g. new desks for new employees
  • Transferring files on the Proclaim case management system
  • Presentation of management information
  • Auditing and quality control of information on client files
  • Assist with the correct implementation of regulatory requirements
  • Various ad hoc duties within the scope of the Operations / Facilities department

Key Requirements:

Essential

  • Health and Safety knowledge and experience of applying in an office setting
  • Full driving licence (no more than 3 points on licence)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and the capability to deal firmly with external parties where required to achieve desired results
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • A positive attitude and ambition to succeed

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a professional or service industry
  • Annual Quality Review experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Understanding of the legal industry and personal injury claims process

Salary and Benefits:

  • 20 days holiday, rising 1 day per year to a max of 23 days, plus bank/public hols. In addition, the office is closed between Christmas and New Year and you are not required to use your holiday entitlement for this period
