Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

The Company is one of the UK’s market leaders in delivering centralised community energy projects. As a result of their continuing success they’re experiencing rapid and extensive growth in all business sectors; as such they have an exceptional opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician based in the London area. They’re looking for someone to undertake Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance in accordance with site procedures, rules and line management instructions.
The Role:
Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all Quality Management and Compliance Documentation for O&M activities is correct and complete for each site
- Proactively drive Legislative and Contractual Compliance, profitability, and customer satisfaction within the customer portfolio
- Provide technical assistance to clients, and work colleagues within whilst fulfilling and meeting both Quality Standards and HSE Objectives
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant version of BS7671 and provide information on how to improve compliance of legacy installations to current requirements
- Closely manage customer HSE objectives and Quality Standards and ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during the maintenance and repair of the plant
- Complete internal performance management general reporting for use in producing client final reporting
- Make effective recommendations for continuous improvement
- Adopt company HSE Policies, Procedures and Objectives, and ensure they are achieved throughout area of responsibility
- Ensure that Statutory and Mandatory Inspections are satisfactorily carried out and documented in line with the Company’s Management System. Diligently and accurately maintain, submit relevant documentation and records as required, and maintain ISO Accreditation Company Standards
- Be versatile to support all Department works, Servicing HIUs and reacting to HIU breakdowns when needed. Support Energy Centre planned or reactive works.
- To undertake Portable Appliance Testing activities as and when required
You will also be required to actively take part in the callout / standby rota. A full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to working practices and hours is essential
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be well presented, organised and polite. This is a customer facing role, with excellent communication and customer service skills
You will have a high level of technical knowledge and expertise on heat pumps and related systems
It will also be a requirement to have:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience post qualification, ideally with a mixture of domestic and commercial experience.
- Electrical / Mechanical engineering in a similar environment; with comprehensive understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation
- Inspection and testing experience and Qualified to C&G 2391 or 2394 & 2395
- NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent
- Must have a certificate in BS7671 – The Requirements for Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th Edition
- Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems is desirable
- Good working Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements
- Heating systems, Energy Centre processes and supporting distribution systems
- Electronic maintenance systems with sound technical knowledge in fault finding and testing within a similar environment
- Preparing Method statements, Risk, COSHH Assessments, and Permits to Work
- Experience on Data networks, Cat5 or Cat6
The following Skills and Expertise will be advantageous:
- Served a recognised apprenticeship and be qualified to City & Guilds/ NVQ level 3 in Electrical Wiring and installations and registered to the appropriate body as required for the role
- Electrical qualification to the latest Edition of BS 7671 that includes installing or modifying currently electrical controls
- Electrical Inspect and test
- PAT Testing
- Willingness to study for relevant Industry qualifications is essential
