The Company:
The Company, a family owned businesses who have been in the recycling industry for over 100 years, are currently looking for an experienced Driver / Yard Operative to join their team based out of Luton.
The Role:
They’re looking for an enthusiastic, bright and capable multi-drop driver with Sat Nav experience who is experienced enough to be able to drive for up to 8 hours a day collecting and delivering Paper Planet materials. A quick learner who can absorb new ideas, communicate clearly and who also possesses a good team spirit while out on the road as well as when working in the yard.
Key Duties:
Responsibilities for Multi Drop Driver:
- Making deliveries and collections from business premises and also customer’s home addresses
- Driving vehicles on scheduled routes to deliver and collect Paper Planet materials
- Completing the correct documentation when collecting and delivering Paper Planet materials
- Maintaining the vehicles cleanliness both inside and out
- Verifying the contents for delivery or collection against pre-printed route sheets
- Driving in heavy traffic and unsociable hours
- Report delays, accidents or other traffic situations to managers
- Delivering a friendly and professional service to customers
- Manually lifting & carrying Paper Planet materials from the vehicle to customer’s premises
- Driving safely whilst obeying all traffic laws and regulations
- Obtaining customer signatures on delivery and collection paper work
- Reporting any mechanical problems of deficiencies with your vehicle
- Completing vehicle inspection including: diesel oil, water, oil, tires and lights
Responsibilities for Yard Operative:
- The Yard Operative will assist with the duties in the yard
- Assisting on the paper bedding machine
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and safety within the working environment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Good communication skills
- Driving experience within a multi-drop or multi-collection role
- Able to pass our rigorous security checks and procedures
- Ability to work under pressure
