Job Title: Production MIG Welder

A bit about us:
BM Catalysts are a successful Manufacturing Company, specializing in the supply of Aftermarket Catalytic Converter Systems to the Automotive Market, throughout the UK and Europe.
The Position:
As part of our continued expansion we now require a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team of MIG Welders, fabricating both front pipe and catalytic converter assemblies, for a complete range of modern vehicles. This is production MIG welding in jigs which includes internal and external welding on mild and stainless steel. Welders have their own welding bays and the welding is intricate as it involves welding lambdas into the exhaust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling parts for welding from jigs
- Welding of both front pipe and catalytic converter assemblies, using MIG welders
- Welding parts in line with production targets
- Observing company health and safety policy and rules at all times
- Following instructions set out by your line manager
- Reporting any defects to your line manager prior to commencing work
- Performing other ad hoc duties as required
- Keeping the work place clean and tidy at all times
The Candidate:
- Skill and experience working with mild and stainless steel applications to a high quality finish
- Skill in intricate welding, has to perform both outer and inner welds
- Ability to work to tight production targets and KPIs, therefore speed along with precision is essential
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions
- Knowledge of MIG Welding
- Knowledge of what PPE is required for the job
- Awareness of the production targets and drive to achieve them
- Awareness of the dangers related to MIG welding process
- Awareness of other people who may be effected by your actions
Additional Information:
We offer 3 different rota shifts and you can choose whichever suits one suits you!
These are:
- 4 day week, Mon- Fri with one rota day which changes each week (when you get the Friday off, you get the Monday off too)
- 5 day week, Mon – Fri, 7:15 – 16:00
- 5 day week, Mon – Fri, 9:15 – 18:00
